I made this when I first joined cause I had a feeling this one was going to fall just like ALLLL the others but instead i stuck with it and have been slowly incorporating the ideas listed here into this sim.
So far so good, right? =/
I just copy/pasted, I'll strikethrough all the areas that would not apply to this league.
To start: 12 GMs (2 Conferences of 6; 4 Divisions of 3).
Vacant teams: Reserve League.
To offer a player on a reserved/vacant team, must trade for players/prospects/draft picks of equal value.
- Option A: Player for player of equal value. (Duchene for Hedman; Iginla - Stastny; Ennis - Subban etc...)
- Option B: Works much like offer-sheets for RFAs. Prospects/Picks equal to player wanted.
Option B chart:
If player offered has overall of the following:
90's - Top Prospect + 1st-round for x-years (years depends on age of player) / + 2nd prospect (depending on value of top prospect.)
Hi 80's - 1st-round for 6-years + 2nd for 3-yrs. / + Top Prospect (depending on player)
Mid 80's - 1st for 3-years + 2nd for 2-years. / Top Pros. (depending on player)
Lo 80's - 1st for 1-yr. + 2nd / + Top Pros. (depending on pros.) / + 3rd for 2-years.
Hi 70's - 3rd / + 4th for 2 years. / Top Pros. (depending on pros./player involved)
Mid 70's - 3rd / 4th / 5th for 3-yrs. / + Prospect (value of prospect may change other compensation)*
Lo 70's - 4th / + 5th 2-yrs. / + 6th 3-yrs. / + Prospect (as above)
Hi 60's - 5th / + 6th 2-yrs. / + 7th for 3-yrs. / + Pros. (as above)
Mid 60's - 6th / + 7th for 2-yrs. / + Pros. (as above)
Lo 60's - 7th / + Pros.
If player offered has an overall potential of the following (This is in addition to the above criteria):
Pot. A = + equal or lesser caliber player (may reduce other compensation)
Pot. B = + player of lesser tier by 1 category (may reduce other comp.)
Pot. C = No change.
Pot. D = Reduced compensation.
Example:
*Lo 80's = 1st + 2nd / + 3rd for 2-yrs. / + Top Pros. - A player with overall of Lo 80's (regardless of potential, but not age), must be given comp. of 1st + 2nd.
Everything after the "/" is optional and may be done in combination with. Depending on value of other optionals, offer may reduce or negate other comp.
(Ex.) Top Pros. = Hall, negates 1st or 2nd or 3rd for 2 years. depending on player the offer is applying for.
This here is just a rough draft, I haven't fully thought out what the compensation should be, but thsi made sense to me at the time so anyone with any gripes about how the compensation here should work, please don't keep it to yourselves.
Reason for reserve league: If expanding, no one wants to take a hacked team,and GM's may switch teams after a given season.
PLAYOFFS:
12 team league - 6 go to playoffs.
2 Divisions of 3 teams. Each team at the top of their Division go to the playoffs.
Playoffs consist of 4 teams per conference (8 total) and play 3 rounds for the cup.
16 Teams - 8 to playoffs.
Option 1: 2 Div. of 4 teams. Only top 2 of each Div. go to playoffs. <OR> Top of each Div. to playoffs & points race for the other 2 seeds.
Option 2: 4 Div. of 2 teams. Only top of Div. go to playoffs.
Playoffs consist of 4 teams per conference (8 total) and play 3 rounds for the cup <OR> All teams enter the playoffs with 8 teams per confnerence (16 total) and play 4 rounds for the cup.
POTENTIAL:
Every x # of games, players auto-lose/gain points in attributes, to each respectable area of potential. (Based on a40 to 42 46 to 47-game year schedule.)
A = +1 per 5-10 games (depending on age and production) = 4 to 9 points a year.
A- = +1 per 6-12 games " = 3+ to 7+ points a year
B = +1 per 10-17 " = 2+ to 4 a year.
B- = +1 per 12-20 " = 2 to 3+ a year.
C = +/- 0 (Gains/Loses based on production)
C- = -1 per 20 games (Gains/Loses based on production) = 2+ possible points a year.
D = -1 per 10 games = -4 a year.
D- = -1 per 7 " = -6 a year.
E = -1 per 5 " = -9 a year.
?E- = -1 per 4 " = -11 a year.
FREE AGENTS:
All existing Free Agents in NHL 11 + UFA's of Reserve Teams who's contracts consist of 1-yr. under $x.xM.
NHL SIM
-2010 Draft remains as is.
-NHL Simulation is done in PLAY NOW mode. So all Hot/Cold streaks exist only by coincidence (The sim is Random and the computer considers probability by numbers, so it's all chance).
-Trades will be monitored by several staff members. If accepted by all, trade is then simmed in BEAGM before any games the following day. If trade does not go through NHL 11, trade can be overruled by staff and accepted anyway.
-FA signings will be monitored by several staff members. If accepted by all, signing is then simmed in BEAGM to the best of one's ability (may need to be tested several tiems before final conclusion). Any signing that NHL11 will not accept can be overruled by staff.
(-For results on prospects for next year (future potential and player overall), sim a season, record results, repeat for accuracy.)
-Gm's may switch teams at the end of the year and former team is moved to Reserved Leauge.
Waivers:
When a player is waived, GM's will have a 24-hr time period to claim (unless bottom team claims). The team with the worst current record has first priority to claim, always. If there is no team with a current poor record, or if teams are tied for last, player goes to team with currently-lowest winning%, or last year's standings.
